1822-1905
Born in Port Glsgow, Scotland he worked there most of his life and was fairly successful as a marine painter with many commissions by ship owners, to his credit.
He also lived for a time in Greenock.
In the book Marine Art & the Clyde by A.S. Davidson there are eleven pages on the artist #156 to 168. Displaying images of his paintings and a very good biography.
