Schranz (father to the fine marine/landscape painter,John Schranz) was born in Ochsenhausen, Germany in 1769. The artist later settled on the island of Minorca, Spain, where he spent the bulk of his life until finally moving to Malta in his last few years and passing away there in 1839.
